Mighty king who introduces civilization to mankind. He is too ambition and too arrogant. Thinks of himself as a rival to God. Human beings become the source of Evil

Zahak

An Arab

Seduced by Ahrimak, kills his father, forms an army and defeats Jamshid and rules over Iran. Cruelty and oppression is over all

Fereydun

Descendant of Tahmures

Is joined by Kaveh, the blacksmith, leads a popular revolt against and defeats and imprisons Zahak, becomes King, rules over the whole of the world, and then divides his kingdom between his three sons; Salm, Tur and Iraj.

Rules over central Asia and China, also known as Turan. Conspires with Salm and kills Iraj in a fit of jealousy and greed.

In avenging the blood of Iraj, defeats and kills Salm and Tur in battle and becomes King.

Nozar

Son of Manuchehr

An unscrupulous and incompetent King. He is defeated by Afrasyab, the ruler of Turan, who invade and pillage Iran.

Kay Quobad

Replaces two weak kings; Zav-e Tahmaseb and Gershasb

Given the throne by Zal and the council of nobles. Drives out the invaders and rules justly.

Kay Kavus

Kay Quobad’s Son

His rule is marked by a series of near disasters, to be averted by the hero of Iranian folklore, Rostam.

Khosro

Son of Seyavash and grandson of Kay Kavus

With Rostam as the head of his forces, wages a war of vengeance for the death of Seyavash against Turan. He defeats the enemy and executes their king, Afrasyab. Abdicates in favor of Lohrasp.

Accepts Zoroaster’s faith. Iran is attacked by Arjasb, the new hero of the Turan forces. Sends his son Esfandyar who battles and defeats the enemy. Fearful of Esfandyar’s popularity and ambitions, sets his son up in a battle against Rostam, who kills him in battle.

Homai

Daughter and wife of Bahman (Goshtasp’s grandson and Esfandyiar’s Son)

Bahman dies shortly after marrying her, which leaves her to rule Iran.

Darab

Son of Homai from her marriage to Bahman

Marries the daughter of the King of Greece, who bears him a son, named Eskandar. Marries a second princess, who bears him another son, named Dara.

Dara

Son of Darab

 

Eskandar

Alexander the Great, Son of Darab from his marriage to the daughter of the Greek King

Defeats Dara and becomes King.
